Are you an organised and detail-focused Purchasing Officer who enjoys keeping materials, suppliers and production moving?
Our client is a long-established manufacturing business based in Epping, and they are seeking a proactive Purchasing Officer to join their purchasing team.
This is a hands-on role where your work directly supports production operations. You will be responsible for raising purchase orders, following up suppliers, managing stock availability, coordinating external processes, and working closely with production and warehouse teams.
If you have purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment, strong SAP and Excel skills, and enjoy solving problems before they become production issues, this role could be an excellent fit.
As the Purchasing Officer, you will report to the Purchasing & Logistics Manager and work as part of a small purchasing team.
Your main responsibility will be to procure and expedite the delivery of goods, materials, components, services and incidental items required for production. This includes working with suppliers, monitoring overdue orders, supporting stock control, coordinating external processing, and ensuring materials are available in line with manufacturing requirements.
This role would suit someone who is comfortable working with systems, data, suppliers and internal stakeholders. It is not just a desk-based purchasing role. You will be close to the production and warehouse environment, and your ability to communicate clearly and follow things through will be highly valued.
In this role, you will be responsible for:

This is primarily an onsite role, as the position works closely with production, warehouse, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
While the company does not have a formal work-from-home arrangement for this position, some flexibility may be discussed depending on business needs and individual circumstances.
For the first 12 months, regular onsite attendance is strongly preferred so you can properly learn the role, build strong working relationships, and understand how materials, suppliers and production connect within the business.
ASAP preferred. However, applicants who are currently employed and need to provide notice are still welcome to apply. The company will respect a reasonable notice period for the right person.
Applications close on Sunday, 17 May 2026.
Early applications are strongly encouraged, as shortlisting may commence before the closing date.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a solid career in manufacturing purchasing.
You will be working in a role where your work has a direct impact on production, supplier coordination and material availability. Rather than being a narrow purchasing administration role, this position gives you exposure to suppliers, stock control, external processing, warehouse coordination and manufacturing planning.
You will also join a stable manufacturing business where practical problem-solving, attention to detail and strong follow-through are genuinely valued.
If you have purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment and enjoy working with systems, suppliers and internal teams to keep materials moving, we would like to hear from you.
Please submit your resume and a short cover letter outlining your relevant experience.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
