Position Overview:

As a Business Development Specialist, you will be at the forefront of driving business growth by selling their comprehensive suite of services and products in the Victorian and South Australian markets. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, you will play a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and achieving key performance indicators.

What does your next role look like?

Main Purpose of this role:

The primary objective of this role is to drive business expansion and revenue generation by proactively seeking out new sales opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and effectively promoting our client’s comprehensive range of services and products in the Victorian and South Australian markets. The successful candidate will play a vital role in achieving key performance indicators and contributing to the overall growth and success of the organisation. 

As a pivotal member of the team, you’ll navigate diverse responsibilities, including:

  • Proactively develop new business through sales visits and lead follow-ups
  • Identify and cultivate new lanes from existing customers
  • Obtain competitive rates and prepare quotes for clients
  • Maintain organised client files and records
  • Utilise the EDI Sales Module for efficient sales planning and reporting
  • Attend conferences and meetings, providing insightful reports and presentations
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve sales targets and share outcomes with management
  • Ensure timely communication and resolution of service issues with internal and external stakeholders

A little about you…

To excel in this role, candidates should embody the following attributes:

  • Exceptional communication skills and a dedication to customer service
  • 2-3 years of experience in the Freight Forwarding industry
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • Positive attitude and proactive approach to sales
  • Sales experience is preferred, though not essential
  • Access to personal transportation is preferred.

Working Hour…

Embrace a balanced work-life routine with nominal hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, including a refreshing 1 hour lunch break. Flexibility in working hours can be arranged with pre-approval. 

Salary range…

Competitive base salary of $65,000 – $75,000 per annum plus super
