Bilingual Technical Support (Mechanical) Engineer (Japanese-speaking)

Our client provides cutting-edge technology across various industries, and they are looking for a Bilingual Technical Support Engineer to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to deliver first-line technical support to Japanese customers and internal teams, including customer service and sales departments. You’ll tackle challenging problems, develop solutions, and provide tailored advice on customer-specific needs, particularly regarding belt solutions.

What does your next role look like?

  • Provide remote troubleshooting and first-line technical support to Japanese and English-speaking clients.
  • Offer customised product recommendations and solutions for complex mechanical issues.
  • Analyse product design, conduct technical evaluations, and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Create and deliver technical presentations via webcasts or other remote technologies.
  • Prepare technical data, research information, and create Bill of Materials for projects.
  • Conduct technical training for internal teams.

A little about you…

  • Fluent in both Japanese and English (B2B communication skills highly valued).
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial sales/support or industrial equipment specification.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Proficient in MS Office and 2D/3D CAD software.
  • Excellent problem-solving, logical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-driven, team-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Previous experience supporting both Japanese and English-speaking clients is highly regarded.

 

WORK VISA…

Depending on your work experience as a mechanical engineer and your language proficiency in both Japanese and English, our client may be open to considering visa sponsorship.

Location…

This role is based in Melbourne North (Close to Mill Park/Campbellfield) and requires own transportation.

Working Hour…

Ordinary Hours of Work are an average of 40 hours per week:

  • Day Light Saving Period: 10:00 am to 7:00 pm (AEDT)
  • Standard Period: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm (AEST)

You will observe Japan holidays and work on ANZ holidays with appropriate pay.
