People rely on you to follow through. You maintain accuracy even when deadlines are approaching, and you use sound judgement to decide what you can handle directly and when to ask for guidance.
Corporate planning or compliance may not be on your CV yet — but curiosity about how the wider business operates, and a readiness to take on more than traditional administration, matter more here.
Ideally, you bring:
⚫︎ Corporate Japanese language skills and fluent professional English
⚫︎ Around four to five years of experience in corporate administration, business support, team coordination, executive support or a similar role
⚫︎ Professional experience working in Australia
⚫︎ An understanding of Japanese business communication and workplace culture
⚫︎ Strong written communication and document preparation skills
⚫︎ Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
⚫︎ Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage several priorities without losing accuracy
⚫︎ Confidence following up with stakeholders at different levels
⚫︎ Sound judgement about when to handle something directly and when to escalate
⚫︎ A high level of reliability, confidentiality and professional discretion
Experience in a Japanese organisation, compliance function, corporate planning team or executive office would be an advantage, but is not essential.
A relevant tertiary qualification may be helpful but is not required.
Corporate Administrator • Business Support Coordinator • Team Assistant or Team Coordinator • Executive Assistant looking to broaden your career • Japanese-English Bilingual Coordinator • Compliance Administrator • Project Administrator • Office Coordinator in a corporate environment
Your current title matters less than the skills you have built: accuracy, coordination, stakeholder communication and dependable follow-through.
⚫︎ Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm
⚫︎ Melbourne CBD location
⚫︎ Up to two days’ work from home under the company’s WFH policy
⚫︎ 12-month fixed-term contract
⚫︎ AUD $80,000–$95,000 + Super, depending on experience
⚫︎ Potential opportunity for permanent employment

⚫︎ A practical career step beyond traditional corporate administration
You do not need to match every point or already have “Corporate Planning” or “Compliance” in your job title.
If you have built your career around accurate administration, dependable follow-up and communication in Japanese and English, we would be happy to consider your application.
Sometimes the next step is not a completely different career. It is an opportunity to use the skills you already have in a broader way.
Applicants must have full, unrestricted working rights in Australia. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Please submit your resume through Career Meister to find out more. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted with further information about the organisation and selection process.
Perhaps you are already the person who prepares reports, follows up on missing information and makes sure deadlines do not slip.
You may coordinate meetings, communicate with colleagues in Japanese and English, or quietly keep things moving when priorities change. Your title might be Corporate Administrator, Team Assistant, Coordinator or Executive Assistant — but the skills you use every day could already be a strong match for this role.
A Melbourne-based corporate team is looking for a Japanese-English bilingual professional to support its corporate planning and compliance activities. Working with senior management and stakeholders across Australia and Japan, this role helps coordinate the reports, documents, deadlines and internal processes that keep important business activities moving.
No previous corporate planning, compliance or legal experience is required. What matters is being organised, accurate, comfortable communicating with different stakeholders and ready to learn.
⚫︎ Build on your existing experience rather than starting again in a completely new field
⚫︎ Move beyond general administration into corporate planning and compliance
⚫︎ Use Japanese and English in a cross-functional corporate environment
⚫︎ Work with senior stakeholders and teams across Australia and Japan
⚫︎ Develop practical experience in reporting, internal control and project coordination
⚫︎ Earn AUD $80,000–$95,000 + Super, depending on experience
⚫︎ Access up to two days’ work from home under the company’s policy
⚫︎ Potential opportunity for permanent employment following the initial contract
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Corporate Planning, you’ll provide practical administrative and coordination support across corporate planning and compliance. Some responsibilities will follow an established monthly or annual schedule, while others will involve responding to changing priorities and following up across departments.
This isn’t a legal advisory position, and you won’t be expected to make compliance decisions. Your role is to keep information accurate, documents complete, agreed actions followed up and important deadlines met.
