Sales Coordinator/Executive – Freight Forwarding

About This Position…

A new position for Sales Coordinator/Representative has become vacant at one of the world’s leading Japanese logistics companies. Our Client is based in inner Sydney suburbs near the CBD, and you will be working together with a small friendly team. The team wishes for a passionate person who would want to work and grow with them to join their team.

The job is open to anyone who has some Freight Forwarding Experience and Sales experience.  

The package is up to 70K + Super + 15K Car allowance, and your main responsibility will include, selling the company’s Freight Forwarding, Air, Ocean, Customs Brokerage & 3PL services, and associated products to the Australian and world marketplace, by focusing on sales leads and turning them into business opportunities.

If you are someone with some Fright Forwarding skills with good communication and interpersonal skills who enjoys to actively seek out and engage customers for the company – this position is for you.

What does your next role look like?

Key Activities – not cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required.

1.General Maintenance of Client Files and Records:
– Prospective Client Files
– Existing Client Files

2.Obtaining rates from internal sources and overseas offices/agents for specific business:
– In response to requests for quotes by clients, prospective clients, or sales personnel

3.EDI Sales Module (Database):
– Preparation and submission of weekly sales planners
– Prepare report(s) for sales meetings
– Ensure client information is maintained and updated in EDI

4.General:
– Meeting company’s KPI’s
– Attend Sales Conferences and Meetings, preparing reports & presentations as directed
– Identifying new lanes from existing customers
– Following up on sales leads received from overseas offices or through local sources
– Identifying new business opportunities
– Other duties and tasks reasonably requested by your manager

Other Key Responsibilities:
– Manage the sales process through the sales pipeline, so as to achieve the best outcomes possible for the company in terms of gained business
– Establish and maintain a meaningful target account portfolio, achieve targets, and share outcomes with management
– Maintain close contact with current key customers, so as to achieve business growth goals and objectives
– Provide regular and timely updates on activities to management
– Ensure timely, attentive and appropriate communication with internal and external customers, and ensure effective resolution of service issues

Reporting:
– Report sales outcomes to management as required
– Report KPI outcomes and statistical results as required
– Document customer calls in the Excel Spreadsheet provided
– Ensure customer details are kept updated in EDI

A little about you…

  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication with all levels of staff to become a valuable member of the team
  • Excellent customer service ethic
  • Computer literacy, particularly in MS Excel and Word
  • A strong sense of time management and organisational skills
  • Positive attitude, Professional and self-motivated attitude to work
  • Numeracy skills
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Freight forwarding industry (any role)
  • Ability to work effectively within, and contribute to a team environment
  • Sales/Business Development experience is preferred but not essential

Candidates must have the right to work full-time in Australia.

South of the Sydney CBD – local government area of the City of Sydney

Working Hour…

8:30-5:00PM Monday to Friday – Flexibility may be negotiable
