B2B Client Support specialist – Japanese speaking

About This Position…

Our client, the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilising modular plastic conveyor belts, has a position available for a Customer Support Specialist. 

In this dynamic role, you will be providing Japanese-language phone support to corporate customers in Japan. This position is based in the Melbourne office and reports into the ANZ & Japan Customer Service Manager.

We are looking for an intelligent team player who has a positive mindset and always goes the extra mile to provide high-quality customer service. Your responsibilities vary from providing optimal order management, to technical support in response to customer requests. You will be co-managing accounts and developing business relationships by offering value-added products. The focus is, and always will be, on identifying the customers’ needs and ensure our world-class services.

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of operational and commercial principles and be able to make fast and independent decisions within a clear set of principles. 

What does your next role look like?

  • Process customer inquiries, quotes, and orders correctly in an order entry system
  • Advice & recommend products as needed
  • Solve customer problems in a group, coordinating with sales, production, and engineering, and carry out follow-ups to ensure that concerns are resolved to the customer’s satisfaction
  • Documenting and leveraging important customer information across departments and accounts
  • Assist in customer account maintenance
  • Proactively furthering the sales process using outbound calls
  • Coordinate and communicate with relevant departments (credit, assembly, technical support)
  • Various other responsibilities as needed


A little about you…

  • Professional (or above) Japanese-skills both in writing and speaking, and fluent English
  • 3+ years of work experience in a commercial customer-interfacing role (preferred)
  • 3+ years experience in working in Japan or Japanese companies (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Logical, problem-solving mindset, curious, and a fast learner
  • International experience, comfortable in Western environment/culture
  • Ability to deal with customers and coworkers of different cultures
  • Technical aptitude
  • Analytical, detail oriented
  • Service-minded, pro-active, and able to independently interface with customers
  • Computer proficient with MS Office Applications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/issues at one time
  • Long-term commitment to live and work in Melbourne
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Basic math and technical aptitude


Melbourne North – City of Whittlesea LGA (Own transport is highly preferred)

Working Hour…

Indicative hours for this position are 10:00-19:00 Monday-Friday during AEDT (Daylight Saving Time) and 9:00-18:00 Monday-Friday during AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time)

Start From…

This role will start from June to July 2022.
