Accounting & Payroll Specialist – ANZ Operations

What does your next role look like?

As an Accounting & Payroll Specialist, you’ll manage key financial responsibilities, ensuring payroll accuracy, financial compliance, and seamless accounting across ANZ operations.

Payroll & Employee Management:

  • Process payroll for Australia and New Zealand (monthly and fortnightly).
  • Manage employee queries, leave records, and payroll tax compliance.
  • Oversee superannuation, long service leave, and annual bonus processing.

Accounting & Bookkeeping:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
  • Prepare and submit BAS and GST returns for both Australia and New Zealand.
  • Maintain asset registers, depreciation schedules, and oversee daily cash flow.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the preparation of end-of-year financial statements and assist with audits.
  • Handle inter-company transactions and international payments.

Ad-hoc Support:

  • Provide support for admin tasks, such as petty cash management, reception cover, and vehicle lease maintenance.

A little about you…

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting and payroll, preferably in multi-entity or international environments.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient in MYOB, Xero, or similar software, with strong MS Excel skills.
  • ANZ Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Australian and New Zealand payroll systems, tax regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Team Player: Ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a supportive team.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high proficiency in English.
  • Transport: A valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation (preferred but not essential).

Location…

Based in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs, close to the Bayside and Kingston areas. Full on-site role.

Working Hour…

Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (negotiable)
