What we are looking for are hospitality professionals, who are capable of working in a busy Japanese restaurant.  

The ideal candidate should be a skilled communicator, comfortable working in a team environment and be able to create a positive experience for every person that interacts with establishments. You must have previous section waiting experience, a commitment to customer service, great Japanese food, drink and wine knowledge, a can do attitude and be experienced in general restaurant operations. You also must hold RSA qualifications and be well presented.

• Greeting customers and showing them to their table.
• Preparing tables, ensuring they are clean and fully set.
• Maintaining knowledge of the complete menu, daily specials, and available items.
• Presenting customers with the menu, informing them of daily specials, and taking orders.
• Checking the quality of dishes before serving them.
• Delivering food and beverages in a timely manner.
• Attending tables and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Delivering checks and taking payments.
• Handling customer complaints.
• Strictly adhering to food, sanitary, and safety standards.

• Well experienced with full table service
• Enjoy working a variety of dinner shifts (currently not open for lunch)
• Possess a current RSA
• Have a sound knowledge of Japanese food and drink
• Understanding of POS systems
• Some event service experience would be highly regarded
• Great customer service
• Excellent grooming, presentation and communication skills
• Must be flexible with availability (shifts will include Saturday and public holidays)

Our client is a traditional Japanese Restaurant situated in CBD of Melbourne. They have been described as an institution and a stalwart in the Melbourne culinary scene since opening its doors in 1981.

Serving authentic and traditional Japanese cuisine and includes an intimate over 10-seat sushi bar, a private room as well as the main restaurant. Offering sushi/sashimi, banquets, shabu-shabu, sukiyaki as well as a la carte dishes.
