An excellent opportunity for graduate/student accountants or experienced ones who can assist a senior accountant in the preparation of accounting, tax and financial documents/reports as requested by clients on a part-time basis. 

The applicant needs to be an accounting graduate or in their 2nd/3rd year of studies, display strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese and has a proactive approach to work.

Applicants without experience can apply as training will be provided. 

*This role is expected to work overtime to discharge job duties during busy periods.

It is expected that you will work in independently with a high degree of care, diligence and skill reasonably to be expected of a professional and duly qualified person.

Your duties include but is not limited to the following:

  • General office duties (photocopy, answering telephone, filing etc.)
  • Attend post office to send documents for business
  • Maintenance of outgoing mail register 
  • Preparation of letters using precedent forms (tax returns + assessments) 
  • Basic accounting work for the preparation of client’s Special Purpose Financial Statements (as per direct instructions from the principal) to REVIEW STAGE including:-
    • commence client’s file
    • bank reconciliations
    • operation of MYOB AE – MAS & ASSETS (data entry of general journals and fixed assets) 
  • General bookkeeping / compliance duties for preparation of client’s Activity Statements to REVIEW STAGE including:- 
    • commence client’s file 
    • corrections of bookkeeping errors in client’s cash books as per list prepared by principal 
  • General taxation duties for preparation of client’s individual tax returns to REVIEW STAGE including:- 
    • commence client’s file 
    • download database information from Tax Agent Portal 
    • write summary based on template form 
    • calculation of employment, interest and dividend income 
    • preparation of expenses schedules + additions on adding machine based on instruction from principal 
  • Assisting principal to gather documents, research compliance issues, prepare summaries/calculations and other duties as required to prepare professional advice letters to clients 
  • Any other duties required by the principal 
  • Graduated from an Accounting Degree or currently enrolled in an Accounting Degree or an equivalent business degree. (Undertaking your 2nd or 3rd year studies)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, primarily in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Fluent both in English and Japanese (verbal and written)
  • Self-motivated and a willingness to learn.

Our client is an established & growing Accounting & Taxation Services firm providing a range of professional services that include Accounting, Business Advisory and Taxation.

Location

The office location is in Melbourne South-Eastern suburb, very close to many options for public transport.

Working Hour

Anytime between 9:30am to 7:00pm – Monday to Friday
*approximately 10-20 hours per week plus additional hours of up to 38 hours per week (hours to be discussed and agreed) 

Start From

This role starts from February to early March 2021.
