About This Position…

Our Client is a cutting-edge technology company planning to establish a new subsidiary in the hydrogen-related business by 2024-2025.  As they prepare for this exciting venture, they are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Japanese-speaking Sales Support and Business All-rounder to join their team. Until the official establishment, this role offers the flexibility of remote work (fully remote work from home) and will commence under a Casual or Contract employment arrangement with negotiable working hours. The position may require occasional business trips within Australia (approximately 1-2 trips per month, primarily along the Australian East Coast) and potential training trips to Japan.

What does your next role look like?

• Provide comprehensive support to our Client’s sales and marketing teams in Japan.
• Facilitate effective communication between English-speaking and Japanese-speaking team members.
• Conduct research and provide valuable insights to support decision-making.
• Manage and maintain accurate records, files, and databases for easy accessibility and organisation of information.
• Oversee office communications, handling correspondence, phone calls, and email inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Support the identification and evaluation of new business opportunities, including project development, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
• Actively build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, utility companies, and potential customers.
• Contribute to the successful growth of the hydrogen business through your efforts.
• Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential partners and customers.

A little about you…

• Desired start date for the role is between October and November 2023.
• Willingness to travel domestically (approximately 1-2 trips per month with overnight stays) along the Australian East Coast is required.
• You possess a strong affinity and deep respect for Japanese culture, language, and businesses.
• Previous experience living, studying, or working in Japan is highly desirable.
• Fluency in English is required, while proficiency in Japanese is essential at a moderate level. Conversational competency in Japanese will be considered acceptable.
• Prior experience in sales or manufacturing is advantageous, and candidates must have relevant work experience.
• University graduates with prior work experience will also be considered for the position.
• Candidates with a background in hydrogen-related, energy-related, or engineering industries (STEM background) are preferred.
• Successful candidates will have the self-management skills necessary for remote work during the initial stage.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.) is expected.
• A professional approach and willingness to offer support where necessary are essential qualities.
• You are comfortable working in a team and collaborating both virtually and in-office.
• Possessing excellent attention to detail and organisational skills is crucial for managing daily operational tasks effectively.
• Demonstrated ownership mindset and ability to prioritise tasks and responsibilities are essential traits.
• You are willing to work closely with other departments and business partners to maintain a harmonious relationship and contribute to overall team effort.
• Ensuring timely and accurate responses to all inquiries, providing excellent customer support, is a key responsibility.
• You are prepared to support ad hoc duties when required, showing flexibility and adaptability.

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN AUSTRALIA

Location…

The position can be located anywhere within Australia for the first 1-2 years. Post-establishment, the base location will be most likely in Melbourne.

Working Hour…

Flexible working hours negotiable between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Salary range…

Up to $94,000/year (inc Casual Loading) + Super (Hourly rate equivalent of up to 47.50/hour (inc Casual Loading) + Super)

Working flexibility…

Full remote work at the initial stage (mandatory).

Start From…

Desired start date is between November to December 2023.
